FAQ – CRYPTOCURRENCIES & MORE
Do I have an individual cryptocurrency wallet?
QB does not issue individual wallets. Once you create an account with us, you will get a virtual wallet. Your cryptocurrencies are securely stored in a ‘pooled’ virtual currency account.
The account is a repository of virtual currency private keys. We maintain our own internal ledger, which records all your transactions and is reflected in your QB app.
What are private keys and where are mine?
A private key is a randomly generated string of letters and numbers that make up a specific cryptocurrency wallet address. This address allows you to access your cryptocurrencies.
QB App is a hosted cryptocurrency wallet service, and thus your wallets’ private keys are safeguarded on your behalf to protect your account. This way only you can access your wallet.
Which cryptocurrencies are supported?
Currently, you can trade with any of the following cryptocurrencies:
- Bitcoin (BTC)
- Ethereum (ETH)
- USD Coin (USDC)
- Cardano (ADA)
- Polkadot (DOT)
- Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
- Litecoin (LTC)
- Chainlink (LINK)
What is a fiat currency?
Fiat money is a government-issued currency that isn’t backed by a commodity such as gold. The US Dollar, British Pound, and Euro are fiat currencies for instance.
Which exchange does QB use?
QB establishes the exchange rate for cryptocurrency transactions (“consumer exchange rate”) by comparing prices on multiple exchanges. QB also uses several exchanges to perform the order.
